Today’s technology allows us to simplify the delivery of a crown into just one appointment. Powerful software coupled with our training leads to a crown milled from the finest porcelain available, within a few minutes. We bond your new crown firmly into place, and you’ll be on your way! • What is a dental crown?

Dental crowns are used to repair cracked, broken, or severely decayed teeth and can save a tooth from needing to be extracted.

The crown functions as a cap, covering the entire tooth, and is bonded to the tooth using dental cement. Crowns can also be used as attachments to dental implants when replacing a missing tooth or providing additional support for a dental bridge.

Taking care of crowns is also straightforward, as they require the same brushing and flossing as regular teeth.

  • What is a dental bridge?

At Port Washington Family Dentistry, we design and install custom dental bridges to fill gaps caused by missing teeth. Our bridges are securely held in place with abutment crowns or precision metal mechanisms. Every bridge is custom-made to ensure that it looks natural and is able to provide the desired performance.

  • How do temporary dental crowns work?

At the first dental appointment, Dr. Lysak will create an impression of your teeth to be used for a permanent dental crown. A temporary crown will then be placed to protect your tooth while the permanent crown is being made. When you come back for the fitting appointment, the temporary crown is removed and the permanent crown or bridge is put in place.
